Latest 140 Yorkville Rendering

The latest renderings for the Empire Communities-Greybrook Realty Partners development at 140 Yorkville Avenue have been submitted to the city for approvals, and have also prompted media buzz and quotes such as “a forest in the sky” in reference to the design. The newest take on the proposed 40-storey mixed-use building with 330 residential units and commercial space throughout the first three storeys includes plantings along the east and west elevations, similar to the Bosco Verticale green skyscraper in Milan but more adapted to Toronto’s seasonal temperature variations.

The landscaped aspect of the tower make it an easily recognizable landmark in the area, as well as adds more greenery and visual interest to the skyline. In addition to the increased green space, the new design also clearly delineates between the existing heritage buildings and the new tower, while incorporating ground level public space into a welcoming plaza for residents and visitors alike.

The updated application also proposes a total of 284 parking spaces and 350 bicycle parking spaces within an underground facility accessed via Avenue Road, encouraging all means of transit to this destination development.
