The ceremonial groundbreaking of the Confederation GO station in the Stoney Creek neighbourhood of Hamilton took place in February, and the $35 million station is expected to open in 2019. Located along existing CN tracks on Centennial Parkway, Confederation will be the first step in GO Transit’s plans to extend the Lakeshore West GO line to Niagara Region by 2023. A new station in Grimsby is expected to be complete by 2021, with renovations to existing stations in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls scheduled for completion by 2023.
Initially serving as a Park & Ride lot with bus service until train service begins, Confederation station will be fully accessible with heated shelters, vehicle and bike parking and with direct stair access to Centennial Parkway. Conveniently located only 15 minutes away from our Glanbrook development with Castlepoint Investment Group and Andrin Homes, Confederation station will provide Hamilton with improved transit connectivity throughout the Greater Golden Horseshoe Region.
