Whitby to Benefit from Federal Government Infrastructure Investment

admin Portfolio Updates, Residential Development

It was announced August 15th that the Town of Whitby will receive a $3.89 million investment from the federal government’s Gas Tax Fund for municipal infrastructure improvements. Intended to develop local infrastructure by addressing areas such as public transit, water, local roads, sports and tourism, the fund’s goal is to support projects that generate economic growth, create jobs which grow the middle class, develop healthy communities, and promote long-term growth.

Home to Greybrook’s Whitby Harbour project and only 20 minutes from our nearby Brooklin development, these funds will continue to shape the town of Whitby and surrounding Durham region into a centre for growth over the coming years.  Local Whitby MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes commented on the positive impact the fund will have on the community, stating “Investments like these help promote local economic growth, make our community more environmentally sustainable and ensures that Whitby is not only a great place to be from but it is a great place to be.”
